Trailering a 36' Concept.
I am planning on getting a 36' Concept in the next few months and I wanted to know how much of a pita is it to trailer such a large boat? Do you guys store your boats in closed door warehouses or open storage? The closet drop location to me would be Harbor Town Marina since I am in Broward.

You should be able to tow a 3 foot long boat with just about any 50cc scooter you can get you hands on. :D
36' is 36 feet 36" is 3 feet Is this your first boat? That's a lot of boat to jump into right off the bat. Towing a boat less than/around 40' long is not that bad. Getting bigger than that starts to really get you into situations where turning/navigating becomes troublesome. |

I cant speak for the length but it's only 8'wide and a light boat at maybe 8000-8500# on the trailer so I dont think it woul be hard to trailer. A 3/4 ton should pull it fine, I am real impressed with the Concept's construction and ride, love mine!

Mine on the trailer weighs 9200#s But it has twin 275 Verados. As long as your trailer is set up for the boat and your hitch height is correct it tows as easily as my Tige 24v ski boat. Just need a wider turning radius. Great boats for the $

yep, and they must be doing soething right, still building boats and coming up with new models. Same cant be said for many other mfg's.

I read that this hull should be able to support up to 900hp. I'm thinking about (3) 300hp Verados :)

No problem at all to tow. I take mine out of state a good bit. Of course the right trailer and truck always helps. Good luck they are great boats!!

CB, I saw your boat in KW and was hoping to see you for a possible ride. I have been looking at 36's and have only ridden in one. Yours looked very clean and maintained well, I met the gentleman in the other 36 but he was going out with to many people when I saw him.

Twins, I had a 36 with tripple 300xs and I was told the boat ran better with twins and it does. Three engines are just to much weight for that boat. You will love it with 2 300V or 2 350V would be nice. |

Towing 40ish feet isn't too bad, but it isn't foolproof. Make sure you have the right truck for the job and make sure it has big towing mirrors. When I finally got a truck with real mirrors, I could not believe the amount of anxiety that went away.

Take a look at the Ocean Hawk we are building, much better ride and construction. I do have a used 36 Concept too.

I'd much rather buy from an established builder with 30 yrs experience than a start up, too many stories about people getting burned by builders.
Putting down a competitor is never a winning startegy in sales, especially when your trying to sell one too |
Not putting Concept down at all. I have sold many of them and have many happy customers. Their build quality is good and they are nice boats in calmer water. Most have beautiful paint jobs too and the look that most go-fast guys want.
We sell almost every brand of center console used, have to repair and upgrade them before sale and have been involved in the build and design of many other new brands. You might want to do a little research on the Ocean Hawk boat. This is not a start up company at all and construction does not compare to the similar looking boats like Concept, Renegade, Avanti, Carerra... The boat is a three piece build. Just offered him something else to look at. Something I would always recommend before you are preparing to lay down 150,000 plus of hard earned money. Ocean Hawk will be built now at the Blackwater plant, have you seen the fit, finish and construction of a 36 Blackwater? That is who will be building the Ocean Hawk. If you have seen one of these up close would understand my comment about construction difference in boats. Just like a Apache or Cigarette is different than a Baja or a Fountain. All nice boats just some are better than others. They run different in different water too. Ride and look at the 33 Ocean Hawk and then ride the 36 Concept, one will be good, one will knock your socks off especially if there is some wave action and they will be very close in price. |
I'm familiar with the ocean hawk/cig 33 so if you builiding your building it to those standards and pricing it like a concept 36 then I'm sure you'll give them a run for there money, good luck with your new venture, cant wait to see it.

Underpressure, I am going to have to agree with Pete. I will stick with Concept. They have a good reputation and they are local here in South Florida. Boating37, I think I will just roll with (2) 375V's. Groper, what kind of truck are you using to pull this. I'm guessing a F250/350 and how much are warehouse monthly storage?
|
We are local too, Key Largo is the store and service, and the factory is across the street from Concept in Opa Locka, just an FYI. Maybe stop by when you are up there.
I hope to have two new ones ready to deliver by end Feb, mid March. |

You have no idea what the difference is between a 36 Concept (really a 33) and a 33 Ocean Hawk. Theyre not even in the same planet. Do the Concept look nice yes, does it have nice lines yes do they have nice paint jobs (which is what draw the main attention ) yes. All that plus quality and built can be had with a Ocean Hawk. Ride a Ocean Hawk in 3-4 and ride a Concept in smaller 2-3 and you'll see what the difference is. Ocean Hawk as been around for a longgg time but the owner died several years ago which is why you haven't heard from them in a while, but the molds were preserved to and pampered this whole time. Trust me to real boater the Ocean Hawk is a lot more boat, quality etc than a Concept, Renegade, Solid, Sonic, and so on. That's why all so many people look for them or the Cigarette Cafe Racer which was built by Ocean Hawk under the Cig name. I dont think a brand like " Cigarette" would have the same hull, construstion if the boat what's up to "their" standards. Not knocking Concept but there's no comparison. Ride one for yourself and than you can really compare when you have tested both. I have

remember they're custom made to order and you can get any layout you want. Good luck with your search

I use a 2012 Dodge 2500 6.7, tows it with little effort, the storage is $360.00 a month. |
