New Vinyl thoughts
 

So, I take all my 30's upholstery in next tuesday to be redone. Currently its all white. I have already decided that the new vinyl will be the Carbon Fiber looks stuff. I just cant decide if I should just go all white again, go with some other solid color or a combination of color. My upholsterer does not care price wise what I go with as long as I break the colors up at the current seams(IE..he doesnt have to change the seam patterns).

My main concern with color is its temperature in the hot sun!

Any thoughts, Ideas?

what color(s) is your boat? Post some pic's. See if we can help you out.

I have Carbon Grey/Blue/ Black combo on my boat. Just had it redone at XT in Ohio.

Temperature wise I don't think its going to make a big difference.

Can you post some photos of your new interior? I'd like to see the color combo and design.

I picked up my interior last week. It looks awesome. I havnt put it back in the boat yet, I figured just leave it in the garage till closer to spring. No use having it out in the weather for no reason. I went with all white again but with the Carbon look material. Which in the end I am happy with, I know that will never go out of style. I will get some pictures once its all back in the boat.

I am thinking about getting some interior work done on my 36. Did you use a local shop for yours?

Yes, I used a local shop located in Severna Park, MD.

I did all carbon fiber in my Velocity and will never do it again!! Used as accents or inserts, absolutely. But using it on the entire cockpit looked very cool, but it is so damn hard to clean and keep clean. Being in a center console, I would advise against it. Use it to accent. Just a suggestion from someone who had it for 3 years. It's a ***** to keep clean. I did silver, charcoal, black, and red. I loved the looks, don't get me wrong.

Why was it so hard to keep clean?

It is a 3d pattern. So it has much more areas to trap dirt than a traditional "leather grain, vinyl. Don't get me wrong, it looked kickass. Just got dirty quick and was harder to clean because of the 3d texture. I would use carbon again as inserts, but not as the main material.
