DCB F-32 177mph..
Just watched the youtube video of the
DCB F-32 W/ Twin TCM 1335 efis run 177mph on 12/29/10 with Bob driving.... great video and awesome speed for an F-32... Great Job!:drink: |
Nice setup, but hate to be negitive. 2675 hp and only 171 mph? Should be better than that? OCM's 32 spectra with 725's runs 140 plus (1450 hp). My old non step 38' with those engines (1335's) would probably do 130+ Just wondering were the top end really is?

Throttle,
I think getting past 160 is a total different league. A lot of factors have to be right. Who is going that fast in a pleasure boat on pump gas? There are a few, Pyburn and Gino, look at the effort they have made to get there. Very few have been able to accomplish it. |
Oh I agree. But Pyburn and Gino are in larger rides too. But thats what I was asking for feedback, my major is not hydrodynamic's. Is there a threshold were horse power needs to double to break resistance? That boat should not have much hull in the water at that speed, so aerodynamics must come in play too? Have local guy here that does 200 plus in a blown uncapsuled hydro all day (2000hp). Just was expecting more bang for the buck I guess.

Well 177mph in an F32 is amazing... i havent heard of a 32ft cat going that fast.. pyburns 388 went 185.7 w/chief 1350s, and Ginos 193.1 mph w/ 1550hp sterlings..... so 177 is right there.there .. thats extremely fast,,, especially in a 32, so good to know Teague was driving... Teague/Tomlinson are the best at what they do!

Never said it was not a amazing. And as stated Pyburns and Gino's are bigger boats with darn near the same HP. And yes Teague/Tomlinson are the best at what they do! Just said was expecting a little more. Not trying to discredit anything or anyone. Was just asking some questions. Would love to have one for my own. DCB does some awsome work, and build a beautiful boat.
but im with ya, 177 is very impressive..... |
I think was out of prop and the water pressure guages were absolutely pegged. I would not want much more if I didn't have a full safety crew and controlled condition. Bob is a professional.
