So far the set up gets me 89 MPH with a 30" bravo.
What can I get out of this boat speed wise? Have not had a chance to run a 32 lab, I think that will work.
But before I try that, wondering what the drive height should be at?
Anyone run a 1" or 2" shorty?
The previous owner said he tried a 2" shortly, but the boat felt like it was sliding sideways...I can't understand who that would do that. I would think it would cavitate first.

To high of X is going to allow the prop to push the back of the boat around if it doesn't have enough skeg in the water. Like over trimming a outboard or surface drive, steering goes away. What rpm is the boat turning? How is it to get on plane, if you go to a shorty you might find the boat is really hard to get on plane.

Headers and a nose cone will help on a stock 502
If you are getting 89 with a stock 502, that's awesome
Not sure what the sliding sideways is about with a -2 shorty
I added a -2 shorty and it worked, but too much cavitation on start
I added -1 lower and it still cavitates on start but not as much, so not sure that will do much for you.
I had a little vortech blower, with headers, nose cone and 32 pitch to get 92 mph

It does have the nose cone.
Will try the 32, is going for a lab worth the extra? And would the lab prop make much of a difference at the 65-70 MPH cruising speed?
