Fixing chips in drives?
I'll try this question in this section-
I have 2 drives that I want to clean up. They have a bunch of chips and pits in them due to salt water. What is the easiset way to clean up the pits. I was thinking of sanding down the drives, blasting the areas of the pits, to get them bare, and then mixing up JB weld and working it in like bondo, sand smooth, prime and paint. Or should I use something else, epoxy, polyesther resin for fiberglass? Opinions wanted. |
Re: Fixing chips in drives?
I've found Marglass(spelling?) to work well for that. It is much harder then bondo and sucks to sand but it doesn't crack or fall out and I don't think bondo or other plastic fillers would hold up in that application.
