Well just got home and walked by the boat and saw that stupid name it has again!! Have I mentioned how I dislike the name...hehehe so I took it off.
Here are some close ups of the chiping and flaking i was talking about.

Pantera, It is hard to tell from just pictures but at this point it there are a couple of possibilitys. It appears that everywhere the paint is flaking there is a gray primer or sealer underneath that is coming off first and taking the paint with it. (green circle) It seems to be blistering first (red circle) and then popping, then peeling and spreading. There also appears to be bodywork or bondo in the close vicinity of the places that are flaking. (blue circle). What you need to determine next is #1. Has the intire top of the boat been repainted or just spot repaired. If the color appears a consistant shade across the whole top it has probably all been painted. If there seems to be slightly lighter or darker shades of white it may just be repaired and going bad. Do a close inspection of the intire top and look for any more patches of small blisters and take note of the location and frequency of which they appear. If it is blistering everywhere then it will continue to flake and it will have to come off. If it is only peelinng around bodywork areas it might just be bad primer or something to that effect that would only require those specific areas to be stripped and redone. Let me know what you find. David ( P.S. Much better without the name!!)

Pantera, I am geting ready to sand off a three year old paint job that was done in algrip paint. It was not done to my satisfaction. I have become handy with spraying gelcoat and have currently done the bottom of my 24 monza and the transom. Call me Harry 1-800-288-2469
