Painting Engine Cover

I had some scratches fixed on the PQ and the shop gave me the left over paint. Would I be able to use this to paint my engine cover? It is the stock, ABS (I think) plastic on my HO's.

Dave,
Need to do a test sample - look for what type solvents are in the paint, look on the can or MSDS - then take the dominent solvent listed, wet a rag and wipe the plastic - look for a liitle softening - if it softens a little your good - if it melts the plastic - whoops - if nothing happens you will have to sand plastic and use an epoxy primer -

Re: Painting Engine Cover

G.G., I want to paint the cover on the 496 Mag HO motor. It is a black plastic now with Mercruiser stickers on it.

Do you know by chance where I can get the PQ emblem made for my hatch cover (sun pad)?

Thanks,
