Q? for FX10 or?

When building boats, can I assume the floor or stringers have some kind of adhesive/bedding agent where they contact the supporting pieces? If so, what type (or brand) of product is used? Thanks.

David,
When we bed floors down, we bwd them into 3M 5200 Marine adhesive sealant. The stuff is indestructable. Stringers are usually bedded with a paste, such as cabosil and resin, or a fine sawdust mixed with resin to a peanut butter consistancy. That stuff is also indestructable.
Hope I was of some help.

Rick

Rick- that sawdust thing is a pretty good idea. do you use it as a general purpose filler in the construction process, gaps an stuff. i guess'in its a bit cheaper that cabosil to :D

I picked up a little jet boat to play with. I built a new tandem trailer for it. Now I'm doing the floor, stringers, transom, etc. And as usual, when you open them up, you find all kinds of crap that needs replacing!
