Removing Wedge??
 

I posted something similar in General Q&A and was told I am better off here.

I have a Powerquest 257 Legend with a significant Wedge between the outer chines. I've repowered the boat and add big (for this boat) tabs. I don't feel the Wedge is helping me in any way, and probably costing me a couple MPH.

I am trying to determine how tough/expensive it would be to remove them.

Would Powerquest have used filler to form them (as in the second drawing below), or formed them in like in the first drawing. I figure if it's like the first, then it would be VERY difficult to do, but if it's like the second, then they could be sanded off and regell coated.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I also have a 257pq, did you remove the wedge?

I think its more like the first drawing,,,came out of the mold that way !!!!

the only thing thats for is to prevent chinewalking,,,but it actually does not help since now its tooooo agresive.:rolleyes:

About loosing speed ,,,i say NO !
