never heard of 'em. where did you hear about them?

I guy I work with met one of the reps and he was looking into them. (He is doing a 1957 Chevy) I know the old saying you get what you pay for, but for the D.I.Y. is the paint the weakest link? They also manufacture the paint locally here in Michigan and the World knows the state needs all the money it can keep its hands on.

we had a matrix system a couple years ago. the stuff is almost identical to ppg. its not bad paint, the clear is actully really nice stuff. we just liked spies hecker better so we got rid of the matrix.

probably along the lines of Omni i would guess which really aint that bad either if you dont need a color match. I really would like to try the spies hecker line. heard good stiff about it. does it compare price wise with PPG's DBC ?

i would have to say spies is a little more expensive than ppg, but the product is top notch stuff. their 5310 high build primer is so so good and sands really easy. you should def. give it a shot

That's all we use is Spies Hecker. Agree it's the best.

Yes in fact contrary to what the domestic paint reps will tell you we find a savings in most instances with both Standox or Spies Hecker (i.e. coverage, process/labor, solids content/coverage, etc.).

that is one of the things i did hear from the rep is that it is a very fast coverage with Spies. That is HUGE when painting boats. Man if i could drop a single coat out of the process its worth what ever the extra cost is.
