I used white formica to cover the plywood after I had it cut and fit in the boat.

If your building a fast boat every pound hurts. Check out Nidacore. Besides being a light and strong material for your hull. They sell Nidacore with thin plywood veneers prebonded. You can design some pretty cool cabinets out of it. Then just bag on some Formica.:p

The RV people use a material bonded to a honeycomb core. You can either get granite or solid-surface. You don't want to bond something like 1/4" Corian to plywood- it won't stay attached. It needs to float. 1/4" isn't thick enough to support weight.

Guys thanks alot for all the great info. I am leaning to covering the cabinets with formica and on the cabinet tops may actually try and paint them with a base coat clear coat as to where I can lay some custom graphics on it. Going to try a peice when I come in from work next week and see how it goes. Going to do a search on the nidacore. 520 that looks like it really came out sweet. Thanks

PM Cuda. He does cabinet and countertop refinishing. He has some new spray-on process that looked really cool. He posted about it a few weeks ago but I have no idea how to find the thread.

I seen it and it did look really good. I beleave it was done on some kitchen counter tops. I don't remember where it was at either or the details of what type of paint etc.
