Black Imron Polish??

My Formula's hullsides are black imron. Would I be better off using a "automotive" type polish, or marine? Does anyone know if back in the 80's did Formula use imron on the entire hull above the waterline, or just the "colored" parts. My hullsides are black, deck is white. Im assuming the deck is white gelcoat?

I detail and paint quite a few boats I have been getting good results with turtle wax ICE liquid wax. when buffing I use 3M extra cut compound with a foam pad. Jus my .02 cents :D

Is their a polish or wax that will make the water "run" off, vs spotting? Im sure the black will be a biotch to keep water spots off.

Leverage Polish by Marine Clean!!!! This is the easiest and best that I have ever used.

I have a 2006 Formula with black Imron hullsides. Last year I used Leverage and it worked great. At the end of the day, I used clean water in a spray bottle and a teary towel to wipe down the boat. The product lasted the entire year, plus it is easy to apply.

Imron is REALLY hard. I would not use anything other than the finest compounds- if you get any kind of scratches in it, they'll be next to impossible to get out. Try 3M Finesse-it on a clean wool pad.
