Scarab transom

I pulled the original exhaust tips out of my 1989 Scarab 31 Excel and I was totally surprised not to find any rot. Hopefully I get the same results at the drives when I pull them for refinishing. I want to seal these areas. Is there a preferred material to use?

see if you can find some Cuprinol and brush that on the exposed wood. let it dry for a few days and than seal it with a good epoxy.
