Rub Rail
Does anyone on the board sell rub rail? I want to purchase 6 pcs. of TACO #A11-0638TAL12D. I would prefer to buy it from someone on here as long as the price is fair.
Thanks, Dave |
I sell Most Taco products If you would like a price feel free to call me. Shipping 12' long sections will probably be a bit pricey, but at least I am in a neighboring state to you.. :)

Thanks for the hook up with TACO Products. They have a lot of cool stuff. Type of things you just don't always find in your home town. Nice to be able to pick out near future updating etc.

J-Bonz,
We will see. I just placed an order with them. The products shown on his web site are TACO. The pricing he shows is very outdated. The item I need shows at $3.25/ft. When I called he quoted $5.75/ft. but it was still cheaper than any other place I found. They are out of Florida. Thanks for the hook-up,Dave |
What are they getting you for on shipping? I bought rail once from a company and paid in full. About a week later I get a call from a shipping company telling me I owed them like $350-400. They sold me the rail but they didn't include the shipping cause it came from the factory to me. I never thought rub rail would run me about $800+ for a 24' boat. Worst part is I never even used the crap and it is still sitting in my garage.

I was just informed that Stainless rub rail has gone through the roof

JFM,
$140.00 from Florida to Western NY. They said I got a break on shipping because I own a business and could get commercial rates? Activator, I think prices on all metal products like these have gone thru the roof! |

502,
I called because I wanted to make sure they were TACO products. The dimensions he shows are slightly dfferent than the TACO site. If I undrstood him correctly it is because the TACO sight is up-dated and his wasn't. When I do this type of project I like to have exactly the same type as what I am removing so there are no surprises. I did not turn over every stone but from what I could find out he's still cheaper by about $6.00 per piece than anyone I found. BONZ, I will let all know how it goes. Dave |

Post some pics after you have the job completed. I'm also curious how the joints look too. I need to replace my rubrail on my 31.

If you go to your local West Marine they can order you any Taco rub rail in the catalog. They will ship it to the store then you go pick it up. Shipping won't cost you a dime. I did this a few times and saved some money....plus the price of the rub rail through West Marine was actually good.

OK, It's been awhile. The rub rail came in about a week after I ordered it. Some pieces were damaged but I was able to make it work. Don't know if the damage was from shipping or not. The pieces were wrapped individually and then shrink wrapped together, then shipped in a PVC tube.
I've bought rail before from west marine and would probably go back there next time. Not impressed with rubrails.com Dave |

Shipping is always MUCH cheaper if you ship to a comercial location. Also since you can handle it by hand just tell them you have a loading dock and or fork lift.
