Thanks again for the replys. I ended up using west system epoxy 101 repair pack. After pre-wetting I added some filler to stiffen it up a bit and it seemed to fill perfectly. I left about 1/16" to 1/8" thicker then level in case it retracted as it hardened. The damage at it's deepest was about 3/8" thick.
What grit would you recommend for sanding and about how long should I wait. I'm 100% new at this. Looking closer I would deff say it's either rock or some form or dock damage. The place I usually launch out of has concrete ramps and docks. I usually only use ramp 2 but this was the first for ramp 1. Most likely happened when the boat was tied up when I went for the truck. Sucks but it happens. 22 years old and this is it's only real damage so I can't complain. I'll post updated pics after sanding. |

Only sanded to 220 so far but I'm happy with the results for a temporary fix. It started to rain and I cant fit the entire boat in the garage so the rain is running down the cover.

lookin good so far, you probably dont need to go any finer then 220. If you are satisfied it is faired and level and there is no porosity you can go to primer then color. What paint do you plan on spotting in with?

Repair looks good. You may consider bringing it to someone to prime and spray. Reason being raw materials are really pricey. Often you have to buy a minimum, a quart of each product and in some cases a gallon!
If you go with Imron, you need the base color, you need the activator, and then accelerator, and then a thinner based on the temperature. So maybe you have a body shop close buy or know someone that has all that material and uses it every day. The prevail sprayers are a great spotting tool. Good luck! Brian |

Thanks for the compliments. I temporarily finished it and it came out quite well IMO. Since it's only for a few more uses then heading to a pro to finish I ended using model paint. I guess my membership ran out or I would post the almost (need another coat) end results. If someone wants to post them I'll send them over via email. Thanks again.
