Question on Interlux Perfection
I am painting a new engine hatch with Interlux Perfection 2-Part. After the base off-white is done, I was planning on spraying on an automotive type lacquer paint for stripes/detail over. Does anyone know if this will cause any kind of crazy reaction that will dissolve the perfection, or cause the lacquer to not work properly?
Reason for not just using one of the blues offered by Interlux is that I wanted a specific metallic color. Thanks for the help in advance! |
I wouldnt use laquer, the laquer thinner will most likely dissolve the perfection, use an automotive urethane such as PPG concept, then use concept clear over that.

Thanks! Is it the same deal with an acrylic enamel?

+1 I would probably use concept for the whole thing actually.
we were pitted right near you guys all this past weekend with the Formula(Peters and May), and didnt get the chance to meet, I was thinkin' of going over to your boat to see if you were around a few times, but never got the chance, I do believe I met one of your guys down at Ricks on Saturday(may have been you, i was a little tipsy, and bad with names to begin with). I like the concept, but have never used it on a boat, when I did the Pantera I went with a Marine paint(Perfection), just beacause I wasnt sure how well the concept would hold up, but then I later decided to do the graphics, and clear it, so I went back with old faithful for the clear(concept) Rick |
