?? for Glassdave

My boat is a 2005,After removing some vinyl graphics the imprint of the letters is much whiter than around it.obviously the gelcoat has yellowed some from the sun.The boat is white gelcoat.typically how deep is the yellowing and can it usually be brought back.I have some awesome products I am going to try but didnt want to waste my time if they dont work. What do you think? and do you have any advise?

Hi Doug, i just got done doing a 30 Scarab that had some yellowing around a factory graphic i removed. I used Vibra Cut then cleaned up the shine with Totally Buff and it worked great, took it right off. Tough to say how deep it is sometimes its just superficial and sometimes if the UV dammage is severe it can run pretty deep. Hit it with Vibra and see where it goes.

Thanks dave,I'm glad to hear you used a Fountain of Youth Restoration product.I dont have any of the Vibra Cut but I will get some sent to me from kevin. Then I'll hit it with the Totally Buff. Thanks for the advise,I,ll let you know how I make out.

I have been in the biz for longer then i care to think and i gotta tell ya i have never been so impressed with anything like Totally Buff. I use to use a product called Rollite, we all swore by it around here but it was hard on pads and cleanup was a b!tch. No more of that though, hope as the weather starts to break i can get some of my customers hooked

Lemmie know how it works out

Dave what kind of pads do you suggest to use with these products?

I only use wool on gel. Its seems the only way to build up the friction and heat needed to pull a gloss out. I have no scientific data to back any of that up but what the hey thats my take on it :D :D

I think if you have a gel surface that is in new condition you can maintain the gloss with foam pads. Foam also seems good for fine work, final polishing that sort of stuff. These days i just use Totally Buff and Quick Shine from Fountain of Youth, easy on easy off

Wool is all I've had luck with as well.. Do you sell these products? I've been using 3M super duty but I would like to try something new!

yep, and you can go here as well. I just put in an order to stock the Power1, Totally and QuickWax. Springs right around the corner . . . . .

One of the things i really like about Totally Buff is its a diminishing compound. It breaks down to a finer substance as you work it and clean up is way easy. Plus its one of the few pure white products out there.

Just "joined the Fountain of Youth Club" myself.

Can't wait to try the products.

Thanks GlassDave for your expertise.
