Black bottom paint??

I have seen some boats recently with the bottoms painted shinny black, does anyone know what type of paint these guys are using

I doubt if its a shiney ablative paint but if it was shiney maybe they painted the bottom after removing the ablative paint to cover up the mess that stuff leaves behind? But then again, what do i know about paint? Not much that's what!

Maybe a product like zyrex? They have a black bottom paint that supposed to last 10 years guaranteed.

If you are talking about the new skater and Outerlimits, they are painted or gel black on the bottom

Mine's black but it's not bottom paint.

LOL! You guys suck. :lolhit:

In the 19 Nova's case it is (of course the Valspar hardener was added). Held up well all last year and for the unfortunate bangs and scapes it takes almost nothing to touch up.
Going from super expensive bottom paint from US Boat to the Rust-O also picked up 4mph. It is not bottom paint though so if you plan on leaving it in the water I would go in another direction.

Bottom paint your boat and you will probably never sell it when the time comes !!!
