Need to attach something to the inside hull

I am recarpeting my 97 Scarab 22. I took about a two foot tall section of carpet off the sides of the interior. I kinda figured that there was not much material between the inside and outside of the boat on the sides.

I was hoping to attach a nice small cargo net bag on each side for wallets and things but how. Is it safe to adhesive a peice of wood the side of the boat, cover with carpet so I can screw to it?

yep, no prob. About the worst that can happen is it could print through but its highly unlikely at that depth.

Thanks Glassdave, do you recomend an adhesive? I assume by print through you are talking about a shadow or the adhesive bleeding?

I would use a mix of epoxy and west systems 404 to a thick paste, not a bad idea to put a layer of glass over either. Print through is when you can see the shape of coring or laminates in the outer skin, it is usually a function of different rates of thermal expansion/contraction. Its nothing structural and the thinner the more susceptible the laminate, I doubt you will have any issues though.
