K-Plane thru-hull fitting removal

Thought I would post this here too since many here would be dealing with this.

Are the thru-hull fittings for the hydraulic lines pressed in or threaded? I put a little heat to mine and leaned on it pretty good with a pipe wrench and it didn't budge. Don't want to get any more aggressive if it's pressed in.

Mine were threaded in.

Curious, why are you needing to remove? Can you leave it as is?

They should be threaded. Mine were, 3/4 inch rough thread if I recall.

Mine are threaded. Just had them out last week. They get corrosion from dissimilar metals. Stainless into aluminum. If the don't come out with a little heat and penetrant I would leave them in.

I can if I have to. I am moving the tabs and wanted to do a test fit without making a template. Plus I was thinking about having them powder coated a different color. But, after seeing the factory coating and how thick it is I may skip that.
