Like Artie said, muriatic acid. Get that stuff for cleaning pontoons, wear gloves and keep it out of your eyes. It will take the gunk and other crap off and shining it up is pretty easy after that. I use Alumabrite, works fine on stainless. Just flush it off good

Muratic Acid or some Sno Bowl or The Works toilet bowl cleaner. Either will take it of in 30 seconds. Rinse very well when done.

I have used ALKALINE a/c coil cleaner. Non acidic. It is still corrosive though so do not get it on your hands or in your eyes! But mix with water, spray on, let it foam, spray off. You will surely be left with just the raw metal, no other build up. Then I use Mother's polish for the perfect shine!

Vinegar didn't touch it, snobowl didnt touch it, neither did CLR.. However, muriatic at 60% worked really well when misted on with a spray bottle.. They're hanging off the back of a hydrohoist so its a beehatch to get to. Ill polish them up even more this winter when its in the shop!
