In Gel Graphics?
 

I have in gel graphics. They have been buffed out but always seem to fade and show light scratches. How do I fix this? For example, I have black graphics and it shows kind of dry with light scratches even after buffing - what do I do?

I've had that issue with a couple of older bajas, sometimes the surface can get so porus that it is difficult to maintain a gloss. Try the most aggressive compound you can get and if that doesn't work you may have no other choice but to paint.

sand and hit it with some clear. Will look much better and will be easier to maintain.

This stuff works pretty good for light scratches, fender scratches, etc..

FOY - Pad Glaze

I just recently had mine buffed, and then SEALED with this sealer. i can WIPE the stain off the boat, and it hold a shine for over a year. have seen it on MANY other boats.

Only problem is we dont know what he is using as if we did we all would do it our selves.

The problem with most marine based products is that the size of the abrasive is too large to finely finish down a surface properly. This couple with the "oils" that are contained within them for lubrication and feeding the gelcoat will make it look good.. until they are diluted by water. You can see what I mean by shining a halogen light on your freshly detailed white hull in the dark. My advice would be to finish the graphics down with an automotive product. I like to use Meguiars M105 coupled with the Meguiars microfiber pad system. Because of the hardness of gel, it finishes down marring free. The micro abrasive found in M105 allow it to cut fast, yet finish incredibly clear. If I knew how to attach pics I could show you the finish it leaves.
