anyone? would like to work on this , this weekend

Not sure if its the same situation, but I had a polish that was a pink tint to it. Since my deck is gel (more porous than paint), it left a pink mark so I stopped using it. It went away after a few washes and waxes with non dyed compound.

washed it today still there , i have no idea what would have caused this, ive waxed my boat a million times before and no little yellow spot in one spot of the whole boat !

Is it painted or is it gel your waxing. I use unfinished wax as it can be applied in the sun and is good for gel and paint.

Most likely there was a repair made in the white gelcoat at some point in time. If there was not enough UV inhibitor added in the repaired area gelcoat, it will yellow under the ultraviolet rays from the sun over time. You can try to lightly wet sand and compound the area to see if you can get the white back. Bill

there has been no repairs to the boat .. its gelcoat its a cougar 20.5 sport skier immaculate minus this tiny yellow mark i would like to get rid of

Did someone push to hard on a buffer and burn that spot?

daniel475 08-23-2013 01:37 PM

It was waxed beginning of season by someone I know , I never noticed the spot when she did it so I really don't think so , im really anal with the boat I would have noticed for sure ! going to try some cut wax this weekend

Thinking that the girl that waxed it might have burnt the gel coat?? would this give you the yellowing color???
