Another buffing/waxing thread...

I have researched old threads but I'd like to get advice for my application specifically before I start wet sanding. I'm not sure what this is, maybe overspray. It was on the boat when I bought it. Haven't had any luck removing it. Any suggestions before I start wet sanding? I've tried a buffer and wax. Didn't want to try anything serious without expert advice. Also if I do wet sand, how do I go about it for gel coat? Thanks for any and all advice!!

If rubbing compound won't get rid of it, then wet sand with 1000 first, then 1500, then compound, polish, and wax. Should do the trick.

What kind of compound, Polish, and wax do you reccomend? Also with the compound should I do it by hand or could I use a buffer?

CLAY BAR! Use a good quality clay bar first and then a polishing compound than follow with wax.

Its that time of year lol . Another vote for 1000 to start . Need a constant flow of water and squeeqe off the old stuff as you go . Its best with 3 people ,one sanding one spraying water one squeege operator.
be careful of airborn dust getting on it as you go

Presta Ultra Cutting Cream Light, follow up with Presta Ultra Polish.

Can you describe it better? Little black dots? Hard to see on my phone. Do not wet sand anything yet! I wish people would stop suggesting this. It is an absolute last resort, IMO.

Black with maybe a blue tint. That's why I thought it may be over spray. Very rough in texture.
