Even if you spray the chalk away, hey that sounds like a great name for your magical spray !! Lol you still have to cut it well at least I do to get down past the porosity so the gel doesn't chalk right back up again. I still am yet to figure out really what your saying about what process you use after the chalk is gone. Please explain to me what it is that you're doing after you acid wash the chalk away ?? You are obviously buffing and is it with your own special compound is that what you're talking about?? Ahh I think I got it now it's because of your secret spray you're able to remove the chalk in a timely fashion and buff back without sanding is that what you're trying to show us ?? Depending on what you are using for compounds it is not at all unbelievable that you are able to polish gel that was chalky to start with. I know for a fact that if you don't eliminate 100% of that chalk before u polish its going to just chalk right back up.

Thanks for attempting a chemistry lesson but you're actually at the wrong end of the pH scale. If you mixed this with an acid you would have one hell of a reaction. There's no secret in the polishes I use, if you go through my other posts you'll see that my favorite polish is Meguiars M105/100/101. I also use lots of Meguiars M205 with extended polishing cycles. The process used after wiping the boat down with the solution is to run a normal dual action polisher cross hatched polishing cycle that usually lasts 30-60 seconds. I don't use air for 2 reasons. 1, I'm never near an air compressor unless I'm in my shop. 2, there are very few extended throw dual action polishers. Would a video be more up your alley? I'll even test the pH for you if it'll make you happy. Glassdave and others, I'm working on mixing some stuff up but time is very limited for me but I would love to in the near future! Believe what you would like, 10 years ago if someone said they would be protecting finishes with nano particles I would have laughed too! Nowadays it's common place.

I have an old 88 vip. It was well kept but is chalking. I would be interested to try it. It beats the he'll out of the 3 step that took me 12 hours for one side. Also my boat sits in the water with only a cockpit cover so it would be a good test for longevity as well. Let me know if you have any test samples or the price of a small amount to test with

No updates/additional info on this? I am REALLY picky about how compounds and waxes work so I could be your WORST critic. If it makes me even remotely happy, it is good!:santa:

That looks like more clear coat damage then oxidation to me from the pic...but i could be wrong....
