Buffing

Question the yellow sides of my VR 1 has light oxidation. I plan on compounding and polishing it. There is a dark blue curving variable width stripe running down the side and the stripe is painted. Do I need to tape that off or can I buff at the same over it as I buff the yellow hull? Same question for polish.
Thanks
Padraig

PS tried to load a pic but it only downloads to 90%

Do them separate. You can be a little more aggressive with gel, not the paint or clear over it

Thanks, that what I was afraid of. It is a curvy vee shaped graphic that runs about 2/3 of the length of the boat. Will be a pain to tape off. Oh well, maybe it will teach me patience. LOL

Padraig

you shouldn’t have to tape off the graphic

I have marine detailing business and we polish graphics all the time

if you go through the work of polishing the boat out ceramic coat it.

Shoot me a pm with your phone number and I would be happy to tell you what to use
