Default Changing water pumps

Whats involved in changing the water pumps on 250XS's with Sportmaster gear cases? Is one pump kit better than another. I have all tools and can use them. Thanks

4 nuts on cavplate, 1 under torque tab, drop lower unit, remove the 4 nuts on waterpump housing, remove housing, impeller and keyway, replace all with the contents of your new kit, housing if necessary. Apply a light coat of oil or soap to housing. Slide impeller down onto wearplate and keyway install housing while turning driveshaft clockwise, tighten nuts on w/p housing. Re-install lower unit on midsection. That's it , more or less. You can do it.
