bolster seat bottoms

Seems my bolster seat bottoms have rotted away. there was a piece of wood covered with fiberglass attached somehow to the foam. Now there is nothing to bolt the frame to . Any help would be appreciated..

I doubt the wood floor was attached to the foam. At least it shouldn't have been. It should glassed in and/or attached to the stringers. Sounds like you need to do some cutting on the floor and then reglass and reinstall some wood encapsulated in fiberglass. That or use some composite or starboard.

ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT THE SEAT cushion thats gone or the floor of the boat where the frame bolts to?

sounds like the flip down seats themselves; I re-did mine last year. the upholstery was stapled to the plywood then it may have either been resined over OR covered by a pre-made piece of glass, the old rotted piece should give you a template. best of luck to ya - jeff

If he's only talikng about the actual seat, that should be no big deal. Cut new wood and glass and resin over it. That or use some starboard.

yeah, starboard would be the ticket
