what causes oil to be pushed throught the vent line? Pump is still pushing fuel, and there is no fuel coming from vent line just engine oil -- makes a mess.

there is a top seal that can blow (not the diaphram ) most of the time from overfilling with eng. oil

I use the Holley Marine 130gph mech fuel pump with vent. It is a SIX (6) valve pump equipped for 1/2" fuel line fittings, and is designed so that you can rotate the desired direction you want the fittings to face. The pump does require a fuel pressure regulator. Sorry...don't have the part number at the moment.
