Tight steering

My factory internal steering seems tight , any thoughts?? Merc 502s w/Bravo 1s with Imco tie bar on a 125 hr 2000 Baja(recent purchase)

Steering cable.

Had the same symptom years back. Replaced the cable and could turn the wheel with one finger. You can find a replacement from a number of online retailers. On either end you'll find a number in inches (240 = 20').
