Indicators sticking

One of my indicators will go out till about 4 on the panel, but hangs up there. I took the actuator on the drive apart, and cleaned it, but still sticks a little. Would replacing the spring inside the actuator help? They are prob pretty weak by now. It doesnt take much pressure to "push" the indicator down with my finger once it hangs up. THanks!

Oh, also, I was thinking of adding a type of throttle return spring on the backside of the indicator panel, keeping pressure on the cables "out" in order to take up any slack in the cable??

the problem is usually not the spring,as the cabels age, they have a tendancy to drag, sooner or later, you will need to replace the cabel.

I had the same deal on my 29 outlaw. I cleaned the actuators good and even tried to lube the cables. It got better but still would stick. Ended up replacing the cables and all is good now.
