If your motor is a gen VI make sure you don't already have the large oval port vortec heads. They're good, they have small chambers and they'll flow better than rect port in your situation.

If you have 'D' shaped exhaust ports, you've got vortec heads with 113cc chambers (I think. they might be 118cc). The only restriction in them is the valve sizes.

If you have vortecs, keep them. You manifold is adequate and you carb will work so long as you jet it right. Get a good elec fuel pump and reg, save cash and get a good exhaust package. Your cam is also crap, but I'll let others go into that. You did get it cheap though so can't complain!
Find a 525 efi cam or a 500hp cam for cheap and you'll be laughing. If you do though, ditch the 1.8 rockers and go the 1.7s or you'll pop.

Good Luck!

Just looking to make cheap up grades till next yearwith the powerquest.
Have a 18 foot jet with a 520 CID aluminum headed Ford that sucked up some cash. If that was not bad enough my back halfed 600 CID Mustang eats cash like 2 EX wives.

I think the Vortec L29 heads are about 100cc. I hear you need to keep your timing low about 32. These heads do flow well from what I have heard.

You're right Jeff they are 100cc!

They do flow well, I;m told it's because of the exhaust port design, that's why all the aftermarket heads now have the same exhaust port design as the Vortec heads!

Have you found which heads you have Waterslinger?
