Also I read some where on a fourm site the optiam rep guy said if the batt will not take a charge after sitting then while holding it just let it drop to the ground from your waist high and that will reset the cells to let it take a charge. Sounds crazy But I guess it works. So I am thinking every time you come down off a big wave the only good you are doing is fixing your batteries.:drink:

I will have to see if I have two dead batteries. If the switch is off how could the one battery draw down the other? They should be isolated?

I have had bad swithces also

When the switch is off I get no draw however. Is it possible that something is going on and off (temporary draw) that I am just not seeing when I test?

is your float switch going nuts running the b. pump??

If you are getting no draw, and batteries are still going dead, then it is definitely a bad battery, unless of course like you say you get intermittent draw that you are not seeing.

only thing is, i run a small lightweight race battery, optima is to heavy. i have my suspention all tuned around the light battery so i keep running them. i did put a foam base on it, and i was good all last season, just got it a little less solid mounted and seems good now.


notice the batt is the size of a motor cycle batt.

Let me see if I got this correct.
A. You have 2 batteries
B. 1 (2 battery) disconnect switch where each battery is connected to a different pole on the switch. You have the boat connected to the output of the switch.
C. With the battery switch in the off position both batteries will discharge quickly?
D. You have the switch wired correctly.
E. You checked the switch and it is working correctly.

If all of the above is correct you have 2 bad batterys.

Audio, did you check the draw with the switch off and using a Digital multi meter? I still say pop the tops off the batts and check each cell if you can....
