I can see that going bad right quick by someone hitting the system with 100psi straight form the compressor tank and blowing up the system......nasty mess to clean up! :D

REALLY OLD thread revival here.
I've used my shop vac in the past. It works fine for the task. And it's not a that horrible of a mess to clean up as long as it's majority #1. And since they all have macerators, #2 isn't so bad either. It's all liquid. Just open the shop vac up afterward, hose it off, and coat with Lysol.

On a serious note, a shop vac to a sealed 5 gallon bucket

I use this to filter the air in my sand blaster, the heavy media stays in the blue bucket .
dedicate a hose and a 5 gallon bucket to use for your cleaning duty.
