TRS Upper Housing Schematics????

Since im on a limited budget i want to swap out an empty upper housing onto my outdrive that has a worn out upper.

SO

Is this something i can do?? I do have some weekend warrior mechanic skills.

Does anyone have the schematics for taking the upper housing apart? AND back together.

Any short cuts i need to know about?

Thanks SHU

No, you won't be able to do it yourself. There is shimming of the gears required which you need special tools in order to do. You are best off to leave it to a reputable shop which has the tools. Be sure to ask them if they are equipped to do TRS drives. If the gears are not set up right it won't live. Also when the upper and lower are put back together it has to be shimmed between there.

Above is a link to where you can down load the Mercury TRS Service Manual #5 free. It's 59MB

I hate payin those dealer hourly wages. There outrageous.
