Grab Rails? Bow Rails? Where To Get them?

On a lot of the new boats they will have the "center" bar running the length of the bow it looks like one giant grab rail, i want to install 2 on the front of my boat and was wondering if this is a custom thing or can you buy them whole somewhere? Oh ya and i have no idea what they are called...if you could help..Thanks -Mike

I'm sure these guys could make you what you need. They made a custom bezel for me.

I do have 2 long straight rails that are about 9 ft long that are powdercoated purple that I would sell, but shipping would be very expensive. Where are you located????

You can buy all the stainless parts to piece one together at West Marine.

Griff, The ones you have is what I am looking for and i appreciate all the help I'm actually stationed at Ft. Riley Kansas and I see your in Omaha I could deff. make the trip to get the rails. I just have to measure the boat today to make sure they will fit. Thanks Again

Ergh, just measured the boat and 9ft is going to be to long need them right at 6'5 but thanks or the offer and continued help.

Mine were the original rails that were used as grab rails down the sides of the fairing on my 32 AT. I looked and they are actually closer to 10 feet long. They are just like what is on the sides of the older Sonics. They could be shortened by a good welder or they could easily be cut and capped on one end. The only thing is that they use 4 mounting bolts at each brace location that would be visible from the top. $100 for both of them.

Thanks griff for the offer but i think i am going to keep searching i want to try and get them flush with the top deck so no bolts are visisble.

Are you looking for the flat stock style like on the outlaws?

got this pic to kinda show what i'm looking for not a great one but you'll get an idea of what i want. Would like to install on both sides of my bow hatch and remove the old rails and kinda put a new school look on an old school boat

Check with XT Innovations out of Bucryus,OH

Or member Brian41 sounds like your looking for the bowrail off a 25OL or 275

jfm 01-02-2010 03:05 PM

That or you will most likely have to have them custom made. I looked forever for one for my 24 outlaw and just wound up going to a weld shop and the did a new one out of stainless for me. Not cheap

86BAJA 01-02-2010 08:02 PM

Ok so now comes the question....Whats not cheap? regarding the one you had made for your boat at the weld shop.

jfm 01-02-2010 09:05 PM

Stainless, welding, and the mock up. Had to bring the boat down and leave it so they could match the contour and shape. I had mine done by a custom motorcycle shop.

Griff 01-03-2010 01:53 AM

I would just get rid of the rails all together if you are going for a cleaner new style look.

I agree with that griff by the time you pull the head liner down it is not worth all the trouble. I just got my 2010 and i ordered it with out bow rails.:drink:

Well Alright guys thanks for the help and after 2 weeks of research i think i'm just going to pull the old ones off and leave it like so. Thanks for the help and ideas

Irishtornado 01-04-2010 12:06 AM

On your boat I would...It's got a nice flat deck just pull the old ones and fill the holes with white gel.
