Go with Alpine PDX's or the JL digitals. They are compact, have a low power draw, don't get real hot and put out lots of power. Me and several friends run the Alpine PDX's.

A friend of mine uses them in his plow trucks and kawasaki mule that he has all decked out with subs and component speakers. He loves them and a mutual friend at a high end stereo shop in GR MI told us both that they are a good quality amp however are lacking all the marketing bs. They drive his subs great and his highs are very crisp. If your looking to do a build and want quality stuff without paying top dollar then go for it. I am not disagreeing with Griff at all however just going by what a good friend claims them to be and he likes good tunes. As Griff mentioned though the newer JL's and Alpines won't draw as much and are very efficient.

JL has just come out with there "HD" series amps.....up to 50% less draw than previous amps ans smaller in size.

I know your question asks about MB Quarts but the new JL's are worth a re-visit.

I am actually a dealer for them, not our biggest line, but very good equipment for the money. JL and Apline are also good. But if you want small you may want to check out arc audio

Not trying to hyjack this thread but has anyone tried the Kicker ZX 700.5 to power one sub and four mids? If so any thoughts on it?

I would personally stay away from kicker these days, some will disagree but we use quite a bit of audio equipment and kicker is worse every year. 5-channel amps are a bit tricky, memphis makes a very good one and planet audio has a nice piece also

I would get the 5 channel Alpine PDX5. I think its 75x4 and 300x1. The Alpines are under rated on output watts and will most likely sound just as good, if not better.

I had Alpine PDX's in my last boat too. One of my buddies is an ARC dealer, if you need help on some pricing let me know.

MB Quart use to be the stuff to have. I heard they are owned by another company now and I am not 100% sure about them. But anything I have seen MB has been an awesome product.
