how do i mount my oil cooler on the back of my block?
i have a 18" oil cooler that i plan to mount on the back of my block like the hp500. how should i go about mounting it? i am trying to keep this cheap, maybe fab my own bracket or maybe there is a stock bracket that is chaeper that would work. any suggestions would be a great help. thanks!

Like always nothing cheap with boat parts. Seems like I paid about $80 for the mounts. I however mounted mine down low. Not on the lower stringer but the side of the box. I think we emailed about this a while back, I still do not have my engine or mechanicals back in or I would send you a pic.

i actually just figure something out, took a piece of angle iron(?) from a bed frame and mounted it on the back of the bell housing and using 2 hose clamps to hold it on. not billet but it is very secure and it works. will look nice even though it sounds ghetto lol.

I may be able to scrounge up the brackets for a 2" oil cooler. The brackets bolt to the top of the bell housing.

Sorry, PM me.

Is this how you wish to mount your oil cooler on the rear of your motor? Not a great pic but you can see the Keith Eickert oil cooler to bravo mounting brackets (2). I personally like the KE electronics mounting plate/bracket assembly. Makes for a nice neat package. |
