Can railings be removed
Ok on older boats they have the metail railings. I know they can be removed, but usually is it just two screw holes that will be left behind? or are they glued down as well. Dont know if anybody has done this and reccomendations. Im sure some pros might do it, cant be a huge cost to fill and buff about 20 holes out. Any ideas, i think taking the rail off would update the look.

The 311 that i bought the previous owner removed the bow rails on it, he used a simple black plastic plug with resin to seal it in. (they can be bought at Lowes in the hardware section) It does not look bad at all. Looks better than the rail in my opnion.... But they are handy to have on there when docking, or going inbetween 2 boats at a raft up...:coolcowboy:

yeah i didnt think it would be that hard. the only thing is to make sure its just screw holes and not pole holes and no sort of glue was used

I have removed all of mine and it looks much more sexXxy....I filled in and painted the holes left over in mine though... DO IT and you will love yourself in the morning

Another option
If you have the taller rails you can also cut the pipe between the mount and rap around rail and lower them..that look's more sexy too!

there low already. I imagine i could find the right materials to do it at lowes or a marine store. I know that probably up close you could always tell, im just trying to get it so from 10ft away its no noticeable.
