Bending SS Rubrail
This weekend I am removing my old alumium rubrail and installing SS. Is there any easy way to bend the SS rubrail? I am not worried about the bends at the rear of the boat I am worried about the bend around the front of the sponsons! Any help would be great!
Thanks Don |
I would like to bend some 7/8" stainless for a bimini top. Curious to see what is recommended.

The most important step is to layout and have the least amount seams on side and NOT have a hole fall on bend , that will make it easy to kink . Any and all outside bends you simply screw RR to boat and when you get to a bend put cardboard on paint to protect and work rail around , a rubber hammer can help . Inside tunnel I made a wood form of tunnel where rail fits ( subtract with of rail x - 2 ) screw rail to wood form and bend around corners of form . If you need a pic I still have form , hope this helps . One more tip I also used long straight edge @ seams to insure there was no droop
