496 HO Procharger: Need Help?
I have a 2005 496 HO with a Procharger running 5psi., the engine has been totally fortified with forged pistons ect. and has a pcm from AZ Speed and Marine. It is running lean of course, and needs the fuel sustem upgraded. Does anyone have experience with this, and if so, what fuel system do I use? Do you bypass the stock cold fuel pack? Details would be greatly appricated, thanks for your time, Frank

Same question different thread . Same answer as other thread, only a few people around that can do what you need done to the computer & az speed is NOT one of them.

The thing I was wondering is if it would just be cheaper to pick up a 502 that has forged parts in it already and the install a whipple on that. If I was to go that route would the 502 work with my smartcraft that my 496HO is using??
Yes to building a mag BBC 454, 502 or 500hp. As far as the smartcraft goes, you will lose most of the advanced monitoring. The 496 uses an active PCM on the engine, high sample rate and lots of sensors. The 454/502 MAG MPI is a basic ECU system and is missing most of the sensors that the smart craft gets its readings from. |
