gen II to bravo

Has anyone on here swaped over from a gen II drive with gen II transom assembly, leaving attached the gen II transom assembly, and changin the bell out on the Gen II assembly with a bravo bell, and then attaching the bravo one drive.

Im being told that this can be done, id like to hear its possible now im not sure all the ins and outs the fellow went thru to make this happen but he said and i seen it i just dont know what i was looking at

he left his gen II transom inner and outer, and changed the bell assembly installed a bravo bell not bell housing the bell on outer transom assembly i believe he shaved the inside of the housing when the drive goes up and down it travels between sometihng on both sides of drive, what ever this area is called i seen where he shaved this area down to allow for the bravo one to travel without binding up here.

Has anyone done this modification is it something that can be done, and if so what are the pros and kons of it.

now dont get me wrong, i know its not the proper way of converting over to a bravo system, but with that swap there is alot of exspense involved, im wanting to know if its something that can be done if more then this one mechanic has done this, im not puting monster horsepower behind it, just a mildly modified 454 not nowhere close to the set ups you guys are running.

if this cant be done, im wondering if anyone has a decent bravo inner and outter assembly that can be had, i dont had a bunch of money, i cant find a site that more fits my budget, the guys on here have super nice boats and probably spend more in fuel then my hole boat costs. and hey they probably deserve that ****, im just trying to work with what i got, and see if i can modifie my performance a little without spending a bunch of money can someone put some input in on this. and again i know its not your typical way of transforming over to a bravo but can it be done.

I have a standard transom assembly I'd sell for $700 or a HP assembly for $1,000. The inner plate and entire transom assembly is complete for both, I will remove the trim cylinders, hoses, and lower manifold. Basically, this is all the components you need to convert to Bravo, re-using the most existing parts. Both are fresh water units in good shape. PM an email address I'll send you some pictures of the one you are interested in. Thanks.

He'll need the trim rams, hoses and manifold. Gen II rams won't work for a bravo.
