Alternatives to Merc PerfectSeal

Are there any good alternatives or even better to the Merc PerfectSeal? I'm thinking RTV or something along those lines, something that is more likely to be available locally. I'm trying to avoid speinding $30 to wait for the stuff to be shipped to me.

permatex avaition gasket sealer.. forma gasket #3, if I remember correctly is very close and a suitable substitute
