thanks guys,
If the boat wont plane on 2 330's maybe I should beef them up before swapping them over. I wonder how much power it would have had when new ? It's an MSV Miller, Saccenti, Varese. Alpha's and 330's, with all respect......Your way out of the ballpark. Deffinately would be a cool boat to restore though! http://www.seriousoffshore.com/forum...ad.php?t=12330 |
thanx picklenjim
Yes, that is a very cool thread, my boat is shown on post #30 This great heritage is the reason I want to build this boat.
Sonny says in the thread .... "this photo is of the 38 msv hull with my celebrity deck ,which I designed and built after we stoped building the old deck style .I built 23 of these with twin 440 hp merc with trs drives. 68 mph " Now I really dont need to be going 68 mph in a 33 year old boat, do you think 50 mph would be realistic with my 454's and some bravos ? |
I would think that would be possible. Actually you could build those to 440's pretty easy. Heads, cams, intakes, carbs, roller rockers.

thanx picklejim, .
The 330 hp 454 magnum didn't have the forged crank so they can't be built up too aggressively but I will plan on doing something for sure and will find some bravos. This is a long term project and there is no rush so thank you again for your advice. |
