an old boat i had did that after i changed drive oil. Turned up it built pressure or something when i refilled. I cracked the fill cap, it let off pressure, and that took care of it. Just a idea.

2 beeps every 60 seconds could be IAC valve. I believe low drive oil, water pressure, oil pressure gives you a constant beep. I had to replace the IAC on both my engines at 155hours on port engine and 165 hours on starboard engine. Put it on a scanner, and that will tell you. Do it before replacing anything else.

I have read recently about a lot of IAC problems with the 496, I have twins in my kachina with about 140 hrs are they just junk equipment or could it be where they are mounted?

If you plan on keeping the 496 for any length of time you should bite the bullet and get a scan tool or diag software. It will pay for itself.
