don't think you can get the 572 with your 502 block....540 no issues...keeping the stock EFI a waste....

The 2.3L Whipple comes with upgraded injectors and intake. ECM, New Exhuast, And a mild cam. Should get to 675hp. How much can mystock Bravo 1 upper take?

I did a run this weekend with a new prop 25p Ron Hill Custom 5 Blade. Picked up 7 mph, WOT 4800rpm. 63.3GPS.

Would love to see 5300rpms with this prop, with a stronger hole shot.

Thanks

You "CAN" do a 572 from a std deck block, but you don't want to. Rod ratio is crap, and the custom pistons are so short they rattle like death until warm.

It's fine for street/strip.
I wouldn't want it in a marine (constant load) application.
540 based on a 4.5 bore (4.5 x 4.375) is fine for std deck.
572 (4.5 x 4.5) for a boat, stick to a talldeck block.
just my opinion.

4.5 x 4.25 = 540, 4.5 x 4.375 = 556. Could use a 6.405 rod with the 4.375 stroke in the 9.8 block.
