Cuddy lights

I have two lights in the cuddy that are the push button type, but they are giving me problems with staying on. Sometimes they will be on and go off or just not turn on at all. I changed bulbs and cleaned sockets but they still do not work properly. Should I get new sockets? Also, what are other cool ways to replace the lighting in the cuddy and general cockpit area? LEDs? Are there different types of bulbs?

Thanks!

Replace the switch, the switch controls the power to the lights. As far as "other cool ways to replace lighting", look at led rope lighing usually about $10 per foot, cut into custom lengths and very low power required with excellant looks and light.

What you probably have is power feeding in through the grounding block under your dash. I do agree with cliff m b that it might be a switch issue but it is not always the switch that operates the system that you are having issues with. I would check all of the switches that share the same grounding block. Check to make sure that all of your switches are protected from moisture.
