Help with cam and head gaskets
 
I have 454mark 4
3964290 heads Cc 100.9
9to 1 cr
333841 intake
800 Holley dp
1.7 roller rockers
Stock manifolds Gil risers wet through hull


Was wondering whats best head gaskets cometic or felpro marine?
Whats a good cam to go with this set up?

if you have any power adder go with cometics or simlaiar style u have to have a fairly fine finish on your block deck and head for them or chance of water leaking if no power adder any old headgasket would be fine..

Are those heads stock? A lot of guys say their all done by 4500rpms. I used a 454HO cam in my set up. Picked up about 6mph but also had the heads flowed.

Oh, my mistake I thought that was the L29 casting. I'm running the 279 Vortecs.

i use the felpro marine on 99 percent of the engines i do,no failures, as far as a cam,i sugest a hyd roller.
