Just got mine back from the paint shop. I tried the merc blue in a can but it did not match
that well and the finish was not that good. I found PPG 19282 Viper Blue to match real nice.

Looks great! Are you going to fill in the engraving with silver/white or leave blue?

Not sure yet. Was thinking of getting silver spray paint and spay a little over the merc letters and wipe the excess of with a little paint thinner. It should not hurt the blue because its base/clear coat but I would hate to mess up a nice paint job and it doesn't look bad like it is.

I've got a buddy looking for two with the Mercury letters on them if anyone wants to trade for blank ones so they are not advertising for Mercury.

Another option it to keep an eye out for a nice set of used ones to match what you have.

I picked up a nice pair for a lot less than the cost of just one new "decal".

This winter when I do some work on my 525's I am going to powder coat the manifold and such in red to match the boat. I am going to get a new sticker made for the top of the intake with a CF background and then I saw a set of Carbon Fiber valve covers on ebay... I am in love. $450 a set but they will look so hot. I just need to find a better option for the coolant tank. I saw some smaller aluminum ones. Just need to find a place to mount so the valve covers can show in all their glory.
