12v power inverter for airdock
Hi,
what inverter can i use for a airdock B model? On the airdock web site they call you must use a min 700 Watt power inverter. I have bought a 1000 Watt power inverter, but if i put the on butten the blower run 1/2 secound and the inverter shut down (overload). What inverter works with that airdock? or can someboady call me the peak power of the airdock blower? Have spoke with a manufactor for inverters. He called me it can be that the peak poer is 20 times more as the normal power. That means i must use a 14000 Watt inverter for a 700 Watt airdock. Can that be?? or can i change the 110v blower against a 12v blower if that works, what blower can i use? Thanks for your help. |
We sell a 750 (continuos) watt Back & Decker inverter that works great. Make sure yours is rated for "continuous" watts. Also check your battery and the connection to the battery. If that doesn't work, try another brand. Some are incorrectly rated.

Keeping your battery leads as short as possible helps too, along with correct sized wire

When I was without power, I purchased a generator.
2000 surge, and 1800 Continuous watts could only run one blower motor. Just to give you some kind of idea. |
Thanks for our help.
But its not easy to get a 12v to 110v inverter here in germany because we normally use 230 v. All inverters i must buy in the states and send them to germany. I have found out that the blower in the dock is a vacum cleaner blower from Ametek. Ametek sell the same blower in 24 V(same specifications). Found a dealer in euopa how sell that blower for 60 Euros (85 Dollar). So i think its the best and cheapest way to buy that blower and use it with two 12v car batterys. Thanks |
